Sandy Blackwood, Far Brook's librarian of 19 years, fondly known by students as “Mrs. B.”, retired in June. She will be honored at Fall Family Day on October 24.
Sandy’s contributions during her years at Far Brook will have a lasting impact. She introduced our students to literature with individualized book recommendations and made sure they were familiar with the Caldecott and Newberry award winners. She was the librarian in the Segal Family Library from the time it was built, and developed Far Brook’s extensive collection of childrens literature, mythology, reference materials, Shakespeare, biographies and much more. Her funny stories and witty comments are missed here at Far Brook.
