STUDENTS

The 237 students attending Far Brook for the 2008 - 2009 school year come from 35 communities within a 15-mile radius of the school. A variety of economic, racial, and religious backgrounds is represented. This ensures the intellectual diversity and artistic creativity so cherished by the school community. This year, 94% of last year's students from nursery through seventh grade returned to Far Brook.

FACULTY

The faculty members at Far Brook are highly qualified, share a dedicated attitude toward their work, and bring many talents and experiences into the life of the school. Thirty-seven percent have graduate degrees. Faculty members are dedicated to continuing education. They select from a wide variety of courses and workshops in the New York metropolitan area and attend in-school workshops with professionals in their fields. The ratio of students to full-time faculty is 7 to 1. Faculty are committed to the philosophy of the school, and the average length of service at Far Brook is approximately 13 years.

SPECIALIZED FACULTY

One of the unique aspects of Far Brook is the large number of specialist faculty who work with students at various levels in the school, beginning as early as nursery.
