Board of Trustees

Welcome from Board Chair Renée Sekino Wolfe

Dear Far Brook Community,

As Chair of Far Brook’s Board of Trustees, I welcome you to the 2024-25 school year. Together with my husband, Jonathan Wolfe, a proud alum from the Class of 1990, we are the parents of three Far Brook students: Ayla (Class of 2027), Kai (Class of 2029), and Mikah (Class of 2031).

Our family has experienced firsthand the value of a Far Brook education, one that challenges minds and inspires our children to be leaders and engaged community members. We are grateful to be part of this remarkable community.

The Board’s responsibility is to ensure that Far Brook’s transformational educational experience continues to be available for generations to come. This year’s Board of Trustees is a group of 16 deeply dedicated volunteers made up of current and past parents, alumni, and one faculty member. Together, our Trustees intentionally reflect a diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and professional expertise. As a Board, we promote and reinforce the School’s mission, vision, and values, we protect the financial stability of the School, and we are responsible for selecting, supporting and evaluating the Head of School, Amy Ziebarth.

The Board works in partnership with Amy on long-range strategic issues and provides fiduciary oversight, ensuring the preservation of capital assets and the School’s endowment. In collaboration with Amy and the School’s administrative team, we are responsible for setting the annual budget (which includes tuition), overseeing policies and procedures, and ensuring that the initiatives and operations support the strategic vision. Trustees also play a critical role in fundraising and philanthropy. Importantly, the Board does not get involved in the daily operations of the School, or in specific management, personnel, or curriculum-related issues, because that work belongs to Amy as Head of School.

Thank you for your commitment to Far Brook School. I look forward to seeing everyone on campus and to a wonderful year ahead.
