Standing Committees of the Board

Executive Committee The Executive Committee is composed of Board officers, plus 1-2 other Trustees with specifically relevant experience/expertise, and serves as a sounding board for the Head of School and reports any actions to the full Board in a timely fashion.

Finance and Investment Committees – The Finance and Investment Committees provide oversight of the School’s short- and long-term financial health. This committee recommends annual budgets for Board approval, and oversees all financial matters pertaining to operation of the school.

Audit Committee – The Audit Committee is independent of the Finance Committee and ensures an annual audit is conducted by an independent professional auditor and improves financial practices and reporting, deterrents to fraud, and external and internal audit functions.

Committee on Trustees – The Committee on Trustees ensures the effective functioning and governance of the Board. Responsibilities include: identifying, recruiting, and nominating potential Trustees; evaluating and assessing the Board's composition; developing and implementing self-evaluation for the Board and evaluation of the Head; and creating and overseeing the orientation of new Trustees.

Development Committee – The Development Committee champions a culture of philanthropy in the School community and has general oversight of the long-range and annual fundraising plans of the School.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) – The DEI Committee fosters diversity, equity, social justice, and inclusion principles embodied in the School’s mission, vision, and values. It identifies DEI challenges and opportunities, and facilitates Board and community education through professional development, speakers, and other resources. The DEI Committee is the only standing committee that includes non-Trustee current parents.

From time-to-time, the Board Chair may appoint additional task forces or ad hoc committees as needed to undertake projects on behalf of the School.
