High School Placement

Representatives from over 20 independent day schools and boarding schools travel to Far Brook for a High School Fair. They answer questions and provide specific information unique to their schools and student experience. Many bring Far Brook alumni who are currently attending their schools. This is a unique opportunity to interact in an intimate and familiar setting and a good opportunity for students to practice talking to admissions representatives.

Far Brook administers the SSAT and ISEE each November. Far Book offers an overview course in October to familiarize students with the tests.

In late September of a student's Eighth Grade year, Far Brook hosts a session exclusively for parents to officially launch the high school search and application season. This meeting provides a comprehensive overview of the application process, including critical steps, timelines, and how Far Brook supports students and their families through each stage.

In preparation for school interviews, Far Brook conducts an interview workshop with the Eighth Graders and individual mock interviews with each student applying to independent schools. They are the experts on their experiences and aspirations. Our mock interviews give them a chance to practice telling their unique stories.
