Simple Gifts Society - Planned Giving
Simple gifts can be extraordinary.
What better opportunity to celebrate the legacy of a Far Brook education than with a gift to help endow its promising future.
– Brad Wiley ’54, Trustee
Planning Your Future with Far Brook
We invite you to become members of The Simple Gifts Society at Far Brook by making a Planned Gift to the School – including the School in your estate plans is the simplest way to start.
Planned Gifts are much easier to make than you may think, and they can have a significant impact on Far Brook’s future. Carefully planned gifts can offer significant estate tax and income benefits, while at the same time allowing donors to make larger gifts to Far Brook than might otherwise be possible. Planned gifts are critically important to our long-term financial strength and help ensure our ability to meet the opportunities and challenges of the future.
Donors have creative ways to support Far Brook in perpetuity:
- Appreciated Stock
- Retirement Plans
- Funded Life Insurance Policies
- Charitable Lead Trust
- Charitable Remainder Trust
Making a Bequest
The easiest way to make a planned gift is by adding simple language to your will, called a codicil: “I give and bequeath to Far Brook School the sum of ______________ to benefit Far Brook’s Endowment.” In addition to being one of the most rewarding gifts you can make, charitable bequests can offer significant estate tax savings.
Bequests can be made by specifying an amount, stating a percentage of the estate or its remainder, naming Far Brook after others have been provided for, or donating a retirement fund.
Unless otherwise designated, planned gifts will go to the Endowment where they will honor the donor and Far Brook in perpetuity. If you prefer your gift to be directed to a specific program or fund, please specify.
The Simple Gifts Society
Once you complete your estate plan, please let us know. Far Brook would like to thank you for your generosity by including you in The Simple Gifts Society, our honorary group for alumni and friends of Far Brook who have made future plans for the School through trust, estate, or other future gifts. Your membership simply allows us to recognize you, if you wish, for the plans you have made – while inspiring generosity in others.
