Far Brook News
Far Brook's Sixth Grade took on Part 1 of William Shakespeare's tragedy Julius Caesar, delivering a vivid and dramatic performance for the Moore Hall audience in early November. Their play is chosen each year from among Shakespeare's plays with Roman or early Medieval settings, and from Ancient Roman comedies, giving creative expression to the subject of the Sixth Grade curriculum: "Ancient Rome and the Formation of Countries." The process of preparing and presenting their class play deepens students' understanding of the customs and culture of Ancient Rome as they explore questions of how governments form and rule. Students were engaged throughout, including creating some of the technical elements that supported the production such as costumes, props, and sets.
