Lunch at the caravanserai, trader-style! As part of their study of Ancient Rome and the Formation of Countries, Sixth Grade dressed the part of the ancient cultures that would trade, migrate, and mix along the "Silk Road." To prepare, each student investigated one country's traditional food, clothing, customs, and myths and legends. After learning about illuminated manuscripts, the students created and illustrated an original story based on their research, which they mounted on scrolls they made in woodshop. The Sixth Grade Trader's Lunch included food, shared stories, and even entertainment by a group of traveling troubadours from the Fourth Grade.
