Your investment in The Far Brook Fund supports all areas of the School – academic programs, faculty compensations and development, arts, athletics, technology, and much more!
All giving is important. Contributions to The Far Brook Fund go immediately into Far Brook’s budget to support the ongoing operations of the School. Funds raised are used this year and not on future needs.
Everyone in the school community is asked to contribute - current parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, Trustees, as well as faculty and administration. Last year, 100% of the Board of Trustees, 88% of current families, and 100% of faculty contributed to The Far Brook Fund!
What you give is entirely up to you. Every gift is important and appreciated. We hope that current families will consider their best gift. Last year, gifts to The Far Brook Fund ranged from $5 to $20,000.
All gifts to The Far Brook Fund matter. Many outside organizations, such as foundations and corporations, look at the rate of participation when making funding decisions; a high number of gifts is a sign of confidence in the School.
The Far Brook Fund helps keep tuitions competitive. Like almost all independent schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Far Brook education. This year, The Far Brook Fund will cover over 6% of expenses.
No. There is no correlation. 100% family participation is the goal. Gifts of every amount are meaningful and important.
Almost every independent school in the country has an annual giving program. It is an important tool to help keep tuition affordable and to enhance the educational experience.
Many companies will match charitable contributions by their employees. The company helps to support worthy causes, and the employee can maximize the amount donated to the charity. Many Far Brook community members work for matching gift companies - please check with your human resources department to see if they will match your gift.
