Calling all future engineers! Over the course of the week, we will work on exploring actions and reactions in order to build a chain reaction. Campers will use easily accessible materials that could be found in any home to make fun and dynamic cascades. The week will conclude with a showcase where all of our creations will be on display and families are encouraged to try the machines.

Through the lens of design thinking, students will have the opportunity to create innovative solutions to some everyday inconveniences while considering environmental problems that we face in the 21st century.  Life Hacks will provide structured and unstructured time for understanding challenges, brainstorming solutions, designing and building prototypes, and testing products.

Nature inspired, nature approved! Students will get an introduction to the tools and principles of biomimicry, a new discipline that emulates nature’s best ideas and blueprints in order to solve human design challenges. Over the course of the week campers will get outside to explore nature and learn a key biomimicry design concept that will be used to develop a novel biomimetic design.

3… 2… 1… Blast off! Students will be introduced to the physics of how rockets fly. Using both physical and digital tools, they will design and build rockets, launch them, and observe how different geometries affect their performance.

Explore the pioneering field of Virtual and Augmented Reality. In this course, campers will code and develop their own 3D virtual environments. Using a variety of platforms, such as CoSpaces, campers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves and interact with people, places, and creatures they never thought possible.

Makers, this one’s for you! Do you idea for a project you can’t stop thinking about? Bring the idea for your passion project to the woodshop and see it come to life.
