Newly founded, the Artist-in-Residence program will provide students with an immersive, hands-on exploration in the arts, dance, music, drama, storytelling, or creative writing. An outside teaching artist will develop curriculum in collaboration with specialist and classroom teachers to create a meaningful and enriching learning experience.

In memory of alumna Joan Kramer ’63, this Fund is to be used for any art-related activity, supplies, or scholarship for artistic students.

Established in 2005 and created in honor and memory of alumni parent and former trustee Fredda Leff to fund special projects in the Lower and Upper Schools that fall outside the daily Far Brook experience.

Established in memory of alumni parent Polly Niebling by her family to support the performing arts.

Created in memory of staunch Far Brook supporter and alumni parent Milton Stern, this Fund assists in offsetting operating
costs of the Laurie Arts Center and, as of 2015, the Music and Arts Building.

Created in honor of grandparents Ruth and Max Segal by their children to support ongoing maintenance and improvements to the Library.  

Created by a long-time Far Brook family, this fund supports faculty salaries and benefits. It also underscores the appreciation and gratitude that the Far Brook community has for its extraordinary faculty.

Created by an anonymous donor, this fund is designated for special summer faculty projects, including the research and design of special curricula, participation in travel/study programs related to the curriculum, and more.

Created in 2018, this Fund seeks to enhance the quality of a Far Brook education by investing in the professional growth and development of the school’s faculty.  The Faculty Opportunity Fund provides grants to fund the pursuit of graduate work and advanced degrees, teaching and educational leadership certification, or attendance at conferences and symposiums that would enhance teaching.

This fund was established in 2023 to celebrate the School’s remarkable history and honor the leadership, wisdom, and generosity of those Trustees who preceded us and those who will lead the School into the future. This unrestricted Endowment Fund will live in perpetuity and support every aspect of Far Brook life for students and faculty.

Created and named in memory of Far Brook’s longtime mathematics, computer, and science teacher, Mary Adams, these scholarships are awarded to talented students who have the potential to be leaders in the mathematics and science programs at Far Brook. 

Created and named for Far Brook’s Music Director Emeritus, Eddie Finckel, who served the School for nearly 40 years. Through our Tuition Assistance Program, we award these funds to talented students who have the potential to be leaders in the arts programs at Far Brook. The Finckel Scholarship was established and named at the 40th Anniversary of the School in 1988.

In honor of a Far Brook grandparent, the late George Bartol, this scholarship enables a promising and economically disadvantaged student to attend Far Brook.

Named in honor of Far Brook’s founding families, this fund provides tuition assistance for qualified students.

In honor of the Hite alumnae, this endowed scholarship is to be used by families who qualify for tuition assistance the necessities of Far Brook life that fall outside the normal range of tuition assistance.

In honor of alumni parents Betty and Jim Hughes, this fund supports one or more talented students for whom Far Brook will make a substantive difference and who could not attend without such assistance.

Created by the Jeffrey family in 2021 to honor the memory of Patrick Jeffrey, father of two Far Brook students, Quinn, Class of 2022, and Colin, Class of 2024. This scholarship fund enables a qualified student from New Jersey SEEDS, other educational access programs, socioeconomically diverse communities, and low-income households the opportunity to participate in the full Far Brook experience for Grades 6, 7, and 8.

Named in honor and in memory of Bill Johnson, beloved Far Brook Faculty member and Art teacher (1969-1988), and made possible by the estate of Mary Ritter, alumni parent and mother of Nina Ritter '75 and Maria Ritter '78. This scholarship provides tuition assistance for a Sixth, Seventh, or Eighth Grade student who excels in the Arts and for whom a Far Brook education would not otherwise be possible.

Named for the eminent Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, this fund was established with funds given by the Rivendell Foundation to provide modest tuition assistance for a student of color who qualifies for tuition assistance, with preference given to a student entering the earlier grades.

Named for a long-time Far Brook family, this scholarship provides substantial financial-need scholarships for one or more incoming students, preferably entering the younger grades.

The Paula Levin Lower School Scholarship Fund was established in 2019 in honor of Paula Levin and her incredible 47-year legacy at Far Brook. The Lower School environment that Paula helped to create continues to be one of joy. This much-needed scholarship endowment fund allows us to continue to broaden and enrich Far Brook’s deep commitment to tuition assistance for current and future students in Nursery through Third Grade.

Established in 1991 by Paulina and Bob Marks in memory of Bob’s parents, Hyman and Lulu Marks, and supported over the years by members of the Marks family. The Scholarship has supported talented students for whom Far Brook would make a substantive difference and who could not attend without such assistance. 

Established in 2008, this scholarship provides tuition assistance to students of high academic ability the opportunity to attend Far Brook who would not otherwise be able to do so.

Established in 2015 by the Hemera Foundation and recommended by alumnus Jay Hughes, the Caroline Pfohl and Damian Ho Scholarship was created to provide tuition assistance for students for whom a Far Brook education would not otherwise be possible.

Established in 1993 by the Board of Trustees of Far Brook School in honor of long-time Far Brook teacher and former Head of the Lower School, the late Carol Silver, this Fund provides general student scholarship assistance.

Was established in 2023 during Far Brook’s 75th Anniversary by Nancy, David, and Jon Wolfe and their families to honor beloved parents and grandparents Roberta and Saul Wolfe. This Fund celebrates the Wolfe’s deep commitment to Far Brook’s progressive teaching and learning and their 43-year relationship with the School. This fund allows Far Brook to continue to expand and grow tuition assistance for current and future students in the Lower School.

Is being created to honor the legacy of Far Brook's beloved, long-time Third Grade teacher, D'Ann Ippolito. Hired by Winifred Moore in 1963, D'Ann's love for Far Brook and teaching children led to her remarkable 40+-year career until she retired in 2009. This Fund will enhance the Third Grade students and teachers’ experience by bringing professionals to campus for single-day workshops, hands-on presentations, or extended residencies to strengthen and develop specific curriculum-related projects connected to the core study and essential question.

Is being created to honor longtime Far Brook Faculty member Ed Solecki and his 43 years of dedicated teaching at Far Brook School. This Fund will enhance Far Brook Junior High students’ experience by bringing arts professionals to campus for single-day workshops, presentations, or extended residencies to strengthen and/or develop specific curriculum-related projects.

Created in 2018 by Head of School Amy Ziebarth during the Strength In Community major gifts initiative, this Fund invests in new curricular initiatives that enhance the Far Brook experience for students.

Established in 2021 to provide immediate assistance to graduating Eighth Grade students, as needed, to help support the gap in their high school tuition needs and/or supplemental school expenses. Inspired by generous families in the Class of 2021, the Fund will support students with limited high school options and who have been recipients of majority tuition assistance while at Far Brook.

Created in 2021 in honor and loving memory of Joan Stern, former parent, Trustee, alumni parent, and grandparent, by her daughters Tricia Stern Zelkowicz ’88 and Ellen Stern Griswold ’93. This 3-year expendable Fund allows the School to enhance its investment in professional development opportunities for faculty by providing much-needed support to bring relevant speakers who are leaders in their field to Far Brook.

The Far Brook Music and Instrument Fund provides funding for the purchase and replacement of instruments, financial assistance for music lessons, and special musical projects.
