After Winifred retired in May 1973, the Board appointed beloved Science and Math Teacher Mary Adams as Interim Director. Mary served in this role until 1974 when she returned to her passion for teaching, which she continued until her death in 1985. After Mary, Far Brook was led by several Interim Directors Wayne Dickison (1974-76), Peter Babcox (1976-79), and Martha Collins Johnson (1979).
