Service learning projects happened on and off Far Brook’s campus and at multiple grade levels in recent days.
On their Service Learning Day this week, the Junior High formed three groups of volunteers: one spent time reading and making crafts with preschoolers at the Valley Settlement House, another created over 1500 packages of pasta at the Community Food Bank, and the third group served lunch to guests at St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen.
Meanwhile, the Lower School’s annual “Mitten Project” packages were presented to the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County today. Lower School students collected mittens, gloves, and socks and made individual gift packages that also included packets of hot chocolate and handwritten notes.
