Nursery – Grade 4
Far Brook teachers and local specialty teachers design and facilitate our enrichment classes. Every year offers a well-rounded selection. In the past, students have enjoyed classes such as drama, visual arts, cooking, yoga, golf, dancing, sports, and gardening. Younger students may also choose to enroll in Library Time where they can do independent activities such as drawing, reading, or working with puzzles and manipulatives. Older students may also enroll in Homework Club in the library.
Grades 5 – 8
These students are on our sports teams after school during the spring (lacrosse, baseball) and fall (field hockey, soccer). During the off-season, there are After School Program offerings for Grades 5-6. We also offer a Basketball Program (Grades 7-8), with twice-weekly practices and intermural games, and Ski Club (Grades 6-8), which travels to a Pocono Mountain facility for skiing on several Friday evenings over the course of two months. Any student may enroll in Homework Club, where they will find quiet spaces in the library to do individual academic work. In addition, students in Grades 7-8 can become involved our After School Leadership Program.
This program begins immediately following our After-School Program and ends at 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The Extended Day Program is on a drop-in basis; families may reserve the time in advance with the option of canceling at any time.
Nursery – Grade 6: This program starts in the gym after the After-School Program dismissal. Students can participate in free-play in the gym, while older students can finish their homework or participate in free-play. This is a great opportunity for students of all ages to interact.
Grades 7 – 8: Seventh and Eighth Grade students who wish to participate in the Extended Day Program will be able to enroll through our Leadership Program.
Costs for the After-School Program and Extended Day Program vary. The After-School Program classes ranges from $15-$25 per day, depending on the type of class and materials provided. The Extended Day Program is currently $15 per day, Mondays – Friday.
Registration for classes takes place twice a year, in August and January.
A selection of our enrichment classes are available on a drop-in basis. Library Time/Homework Club and the Extended Day Program are always available on a drop-in basis.
